1940’s Vintage Grey Metal Office Table with Two Drawers by Art Metal London

A good looking grey metal table with black tipped feet and a pair of useful drawers. A recent find in a large Scottish Mill alongside several other items, the table is made by Art Metal of Buckingham Palace Road SW1 so it’s well-travelled!
These tables were made for purpose with the onus on substance rather than style however spot on trend now. The slightly rubberised top is encased by a metal rim with the overall construction of grey metal finished with the black tipped legs, a nice touch. It is of good size with the two drawers and could easily be used for dining as well as “office work”.
Condition wise it is showing its history - a life in the office of a Scottish Mill well – the usual marks, blemishes to the top, the odd knock but no real worries. These tables were well designed, heavy in construction and made for industry. Both drawers are also working well offering plenty of storage space. Pretty much presented as found apart from a quick dust over and a wipe.
Looking for a slice of industry style and fancy a change from the usual oak, then this one is a worthy contender…
