Sometimes these Victorian tub chairs can be a little too small and a little too squat however this one is what we would say “man sized”, broader than most and rather comfortable.
This one possesses that country house look and feel with a good outline and posture being perfectly happy sitting solo or maybe in a sitting room alongside a collection of chairs, modern or antique.
Purchased with numerous other original pieces in Leicestershire, this one is pleasingly aged and the deep golden damask velvet in a fairly good condition with no rips or tears, just a few marks where it looks like red pen has stained the fabric and of course some day to day wear. The chair from the Victorian period sits on four ebonised legs, again attractively aged, which in turn sit on their original pot casters. The chair is very much as found, perfectly useable with no repairs and the seat firm.
We have given the tub chair a decent clean and lightly polished the legs, so pretty much ready to go or ready for re-upholstery which we would be happy to suggest fabrics for and cost if you wish, just give us a call.
