A super pleasingly “un-messed with” Oak Green Man stick / hallstand or racket stand if you prefer! This one is of a sensible size and is of a rich patina and we would say from the Late Victorian era.
The stand comes with two sections to place ones umbrellas etc into and is entirely original and complete with both drip trays. The pair of strong two front turned legs are finished with acorn shaped finials and the numerous areas of carvings of foliage and flowers are sharp with the colour even showing just the right amount of wear in the right places. The added addition of a glove box is useful for keys, shuttlecocks and such like.
As mentioned the stand is of an accommodating size not too large and not too small. No repairs, wobbles or faults just a great looking lived in look and some nice aging still in situ. Occasionally these stands can have defects or have undergone an over the top refurb or poor repairs – thank our lucky stars this one stayed under the radar until we found it!
