A good quality three drawer dressing mirror in pleasing original condition with good distressing to the mirror glass - enough to echo its history, however not so much that it detracts from its use - it still reflects a view very well.
Owning stacks of class and without doubt a more worthy piece compared to the sometimes clumsy looking dressing mirrors of the late Victorian period. These mirrors not only serve their purpose in a bedroom but also look great placed in a hall or living room and represent good value at present.
The mirror sits on beautifully turned barrelled front feet with small pad feet at the rear. These match well with the frame surround which encases the glass which is in a very much original condition with light foxing creeping up from the base. There is the odd chip on the ebonised turned handles and there is overall general historic wear to the piece, as you would expect. Of course the mahogany is of good colour. The tightening mechanism, being the two handles on each of the pilasters to the mirror still work well and the drawers are sliding well. The lock works, has a key but is very stiff.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 62.5cm x Width 71cm x Depth 28cm
