Shapland and Petter Arts and Crafts Oak Desk C1910
A particularly nice English oak Arts & Crafts desk by Barnstaple maker Shapland & Petter - the locks having the S & P stamp.
Without doubt a very handsome piece from Shapland & Petter, known for their quality pieces
especially from the Arts & Crafts period. This one of a sensible size is a rather lovely design with the copper and brass pulls to the drawers maybe “the star of the show”.
This one looks great from all sides - we have a curved top middle drawer which is flanked by 3 graduated drawers to either side. We have working locks and one key which works for all drawers which are raised on lovely shaped oak legs. We have 2 pull out oak slides to both sides giving you more work space if required. The green grained leather top finishes the desk’s overall look rather well.
Condition is good - we have historic marks and ink stains to the inside of the drawers, all drawers are working well and have those gorgeous copper and brass pulls attached. We have no splits to the panelled sides or backs and the desk sits firm and well. The leather inset is marked and worn in places from being worked at. We have ensured the desk is neat and ready for placing.

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
