More country than town in origins, this small Victorian mahogany table with its leather top is presented in a very much original condition, and we love it.
It’s a small, stout and solid piece of furniture sitting on four strong well-turned legs and possesses an aged look which is so hard to replicate. We would assume that it started life in the country, perhaps on a farming estate or in small country house - downstairs of course…
As mentioned the desk is in an as found condition however it is surprisingly firm, solid and without any repairs or major faults. We have lightly dusted the piece and not over done the polishing, it would be unwise to unfasten all of that aging. The leather top is intact be it marked in numerous areas.
If you are seeking a small desk with wonderful, honest aging then this could just be the one. Some pieces possess the ability to slip into a home and looked like they have been there for an age. We reckon this one can do just that...
