Victorian Burr Walnut Credenza Sideboard Cabinet with Marble Top

This piece is in a highly original condition, rather than being fully restored and glossy, which to be honest, we feel looks all the better for it. We were attracted to this credenza because of its honest and un-messed condition. The burr walnut is marvellously interesting and the original mirrors are wonderfully sparkling, foxed and beautifully jaded.
So, OK, someone decided, at some point in the past, to rob the locks and the handles may not be original, however it survives from the mid 1800’s in a pretty good overall condition. We have lightly cleaned it making sure not to overdo it and have ensured that it’s past and lovely imperfections remain on show.
It’s certainly a grand looking piece with the white marble top only lightly blemished and a small amount of damage to the front of the middle door, close to the lower hinge being of any concern – this could be repaired however the door still opens and closes.
You could if you wish embark on a short restoration of the piece but we feel it’s fabulous the way it is. Its firm with no wobbles - rather gracious, glows with quality, extremely charming and would look superb in a hallway, bar, dining or sitting room.
