Attractive Unusual Little Oak Art Deco Students Bureau With Seat c1930
Super looking and very unusual piece of 1930s English oak furniture with a gentle leaning towards the Art Deco period. Not seen one before so we thought we would have it!
We would guess that it’s a play on a student’s desk/bureau with a drop down writing surface – big enough for a laptop and a little pull out seat which tucks into the front fitting flush and not forgetting the bookshelves either side.
Workshop report – The little piece sits in great historic order with the drop down front working as it should with the bonus of a working key. The chair slots into its space well and we still have the original Rexine in place – an easy replacement if you require new upholstery, Mark our upholsterer would charge £45 plus fabric if you desire a change. The piece sits firm with no wobbles or repairs. The tone is good to the oak and it’s a fairly heavy piece bearing in mind its proportions.
A super piece of 1930s British furniture with little proportions meaning it will slot into the tightest of spots if required.
