Handsome Antique William IV Simulated Rosewood Library Chair
A fine-looking little period Library chair in simulated rosewood which would look rather good in a number of spaces being sensible in proportions.
Its finely shaped frame holds the upholstery well with its round slender arms and cushioned seat giving it some real appeal. The duck egg blue and linen coloured damask fabric is in good order with the odd mark, a little fading with a comfortable seat, no holes or rips. The frame and legs do have marks, dents, bumps and historic wear. We would assume that the front two castors are an old replacement but are well worn in, looks wise. The frame sits firm with no wobbles or movement. Good to sit in with a firm seat.
Great looking chair with that mellow lived in look C1820.
