Handsome 1930s Vintage Oak 16 Drawer Tambour Door Cabinet
Once in an office in Worcestershire, this cabinet is a cracking piece of useful furniture for the home or commercial space. There is not much not to like about this find, firstly the oak is of a pleasing tone, the plinth and cornice is good, nice to have 16 little drawers all with the original brassware in place and as the emblem says all “British Made”. Let’s face it once you get fed up with admiring the drawers you can whip down the tambour door and admire some more.
Workshop report – The Cabinet is sitting in good aged order. The oak is of a pleasing grain with no repairs, nasty deep marks, pieces missing or splits. The brass is aged tarnished on the little drawers, with one having a slither of wood missing and the tambour is working fine. We do not have a lock, however this does not affect its use or look. We have gently waxed the cabinet and the drawers. Looks pretty good!
A few around with sliding shelves but not many with little drawers. We would say British early 1930s, possibly late 1920s.
