Rare Clockwork Butchers Shop Counter Pig with Bell
A rare little Piggy indeed - this one would have sat on a butcher's shop counter and you could press the little tail or nose to let the butcher that you require service. We would say around 1915 and surviving in good order. With a gentle wind up the little pig rings out!
The piece does have a lovely patina - where it has been used. The clock works and thus the little ring is working well - we do have a little loss to the tail but it does not affect its purpose. Both the little glass eyes are in place as is the makers mark RGM.
A charming little piece of history.
