Attractive Edwardian Bergere Occasional Armchair
A rather good looking Bergere armchair C1910. It would be easy to fit into most parts of the home - hall, living room, bedroom or study. It survives in a pleasing aged condition with no breaks or repairs to the all-important cane work on the seat.
We would doubt it was a production line model, probably a one off. It sits proudly on its four curvy pad feet with a generous seat, arms at a good height and a lovely shaped back.
Workshop report – The seat is sitting in great order with just gentle historic marks. The frame is firm with no wobbles or repairs. The cane seat likewise. Expect sensible careful wear of around 100 years or so, nothing off putting.
Such a lovely English chair with bags of charm.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 79cm x Width 60cm x Depth 50cm
Dimensions - Specifically the Seat: Height 40cm x Width 46-32cm (Front-Rear) x Depth 42cm
