- Mid Century “Lamstak” Armchair by James Leonard for Esavian
Mid Century “Lamstak” Armchair by James Leonard for Esavian
A classic English design by James W Leonard for the Education Supply Association ESA (Esavian Ltd). c. 1948. This is made from beech wood and coloured beech ply throughout, including some lovely curved leg assemblies. This is a scarce “armed” model, making it perfect for an occasional, hall or desk chair.
Marked to the back with an ESA manufacturers roundel, this Lamstak (short for laminated stackable chair) design utilised new engineering and design methods.
This one survives in good order- firm, no repairs and sensible historic wear.
Something a little different and rather good looking from all angles.
