1930s Oak 4 Drawer Filing Cabinet Brass Fittings
A great looking 1930s oak filing cabinet with its original brass fittings in place and its little retailers label attached to the front “Miscellaneous Disposals Syndicate Ltd 41, St James Square London, W11”.
This one was found in a Yorkshire office alongside a few similar aged chairs where it had lived for most of its life. It’s a handsome looking chap with the handles a particularly good looking feature - large and workmanlike!
Workshop report – The cabinet survives in good order with the usual knocks and bumps from its previous life. As mentioned the hardware to the 4 doors is in place and nicely age tarnished, rather than over polished – you could of course get the Brasso on them if you so desire. We have ensured the insides are clean and all drawers are pulling as they should bearing in mind it’s around 90 years old. The sides are panelled and overall it's pleasantly worn without being knackered. The top 3 drawers have the file slide inside the bottom one does not, but not a big deal. Expect day to day wear- smells fine and is dry.
A great piece of 1930s office furniture in oak perfect for files, wine , spirits, etc
Dimensions - Overall: Height 147cm x Width 46cm x Depth 62cm
