Antique 1930s Barrister Solicitors Oak Bookcase with Claw Feet
A super example of the classic “barristers” bookcase which came from a period property in Surrey. It survives in that gentle lovely lived-in condition, aging well. It’s a trim size and is useful with its 3 glazed sections, nice to see one with great looking front claw feet to add a bit more style.
Workshop report – The bookcase sits firm with sensible usage marks and a good even tone to the oak. The 3 sections are all crack and break free in the glass department with the little original solid brass turned handles in situ. The insides are neat with sensible usage marks - nothing nasty. We have lightly waxed and cleaned the piece and it is odour free, ready to place. The sections do come apart if space is tight for placing on delivery.
A rather good looking piece of useful 1930s British furniture.
