Vintage 1930s Oak Desk With Unique Little Tambour Top Storage Cubby
A great little vintage oak desk with, we think, a unique little tambour door storage set up on the right side of the top – probably historically custom created by its owner.
The desk, from around the 1930s, is of sensible proportions with a long top drawer, a false drawer hiding the tambour storage and two lower drawers – so plenty of storage and shed loads of style.
Workshop report - The desk is sitting firm and we have lightly waxed the frame, the drawers do have historic ink stains and we have waxed the runners. The original chrome plated handles are in situ and are nicely time worn. The top is pretty good with a pleasing grain and is firm. We do have a small hole in the rear back panel about 1cm in diameter - not too noticeable or a big deal especially if placed against a wall. The tambour door to the storage/cubby top works as it should.
A great looking oak desk with a little something extra.
