Vintage Oak Government Issue Two Drawer Desk Side Table
A vintage oak two drawer desk or side table by Wake and Dean (W &D) stamped and dated 1950 alongside G.R.V and a crown.
A stylish mid-century piece in English Cotswold School design, a good size with two drawers offering a generous workspace as a computer desk or writing table. In a pleasing grain of mid oak, with a moulded top and chamfered legs united by a cross stretcher.
This one survives in good order with sensible day to day wear. The drawers are running as they should, its sitting firm with no wobbles or repairs. Expect light day to day marks. Smells fine. Have a feeling the handles could be a historic replacement but certainly not new.
A fine looking piece of Government Issue furniture with plenty of placing options – certainly big enough for a desk.
