Bespoke Vintage 1940s Tiger Oak Glazed Bookcases
Privately commissioned in the 1940s we have a rather good looking and beautifully made glazed bookcase finished with “tiger” quarter cut oak to the sides and fronts – a great look.
We like these a lot - that angled front and build quality do it for us. The deep oak plinth supports an angled glazed sliding door for storage of books and the like – the shelf being adjustable. Above this is a stouter glazed sliding door offering storage. Both are the same and gives you the opportunity to purchase a pair if required.
Workshop report – The bookcases survive in fine order. The oak is a pleasing golden tone and the grain is interesting and fine. The glass doors are working well with no chips or cracks to the glass. Both bookcases have the original oak shelves within which are adjustable if required. Expect sensible day to day tarnishing and the odd mark or two. Both smell fine and are ready to place being sensible in proportions.
A great looking pair of stylish British oak bookcases.
Price is for one delivered not both.
