1930s Heals Golden Oak Low Dressing Table and Stool
Fabulous looking and from a great maker with the faded Heal’s stamp to the top of one of the drawers. Very much a shape with a gentle hint of Art Deco about it, the design getting a nice lift with those chrome shaped handles.
We have a tall adjustable mirror sitting on a golden oak coloured top with the 3 slender drawers in turn sitting on a stepped base – all well-proportioned.
Workshop report – The dressing table is sitting firm with the original chrome handles in situ. All drawers are running fine and we have waxed the runners. We do have usage marks to the top, a small chip to the lower right side of the lower rear back, not an eyesore and well placed probably a moving accident. The mirror is aged a little, no cracks and only a minor chip to the bottom right hand side corner behind the clip so not too noticeable. The oak bars attaching the mirror to the table have good historic repair and should not cause concern and are again not particularly noticeable. We have ensured the drawers are clean and we’ve lightly cleaned the piece. The oak stool sits firm and has been reupholstered in a textured chenille fabric in ebony which matches the oak tone well.
We do have a pair of matching bedside cabinets and a chest of drawers all of which match the dressing table.
A lovely looking piece of Heals bedroom furniture.
