A Pair Georgian Elbow Side Carver Chairs C1820
A good looking pair of early 19th Century chairs with a lovely aged unfussy look. Rather drab brown 1970s Draylon upholstered seats have been replaced with a rather good heather coloured wool linen. The frames are modest and would fit into numerous spaces – period, modern and commercial.
Workshop report - The chairs are historically marked as you would expect, however sit firm with no wobbles and no movement in the arms. We have old repairs to the lower legs – well executed and lived in rather than fresh. One of the back splats also has repairs, again old, not fresh. The frames glow well, are aged and sit fine. Expect 200 years of sensible use – very servable and attractive to boot.
A charming pair of old English chairs freshened up a little with new upholstery.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 97cm x Width 65.5cm x Depth 53.5cm
Dimensions - Specifically the Seats: Height 48cm x Width 53-41cm (Front-Rear) x Depth 43cm
