Handsome Antique 1930s Barrister Solicitors Oak Bookcase
A nice example of the classic “Barristers” bookcase which came from a period property in Eton and survives in that gentle lived in condition - aging well. It’s a trim size and is useful with its 4 glazed sections, nice to see one with its cut out plinth.
Workshop report – The bookcase sits firm with sensible usage marks and a good even tone to the oak. The 4 sections are all crack and break free in the glass department with the little original Bakelite handles in situ. The insides are neat with a small historic ink stain in one not ugly and faded. We have lightly cleaned the piece and it odour free, ready to place.
A rather good looking piece of useful 1930s British furniture.
