Edwardian Period Coal Log Brass Bucket Scuttle of Good Scale
This one is of a great size, nicely aged and interesting. The lion head emblems to the sides acting as handles are a pleasing feature, the oval shape is good, the bevelled stepped base and fine pierced detailing and bead work fitting in well with the rest of the piece. It also benefits from an inner “bucket” making it a little easier to manage.
The condition is good – a little wear to the pierce work, the inner bucket is fine with no holes and the piece is aged with no recent polishing – you could polish if you are seeking a shinier finish.
A handsome, well proportioned piece of hearth furniture perfect for coal, some logs or kindling or if feeling decadent, fill it with ice for Champagne!
Dimensions - Overall: Height 31cm x Width 41cm with Interior 31cm x Depth 31cm with Interior 28cm
