1930s Vintage Oak Desk From Engineers Workshop
Great looking British vintage oak desk surviving from the late 1930s and found in an engineers workshop. It’s a little different than some – we have a large amount of knee space with a flight of 2 drawers furnished with the original lovely shaped brass handles to the right – one would have housed deeper files.
There is a nice sheen and grain to the oak and as mentioned good to see the original brass handles and brass tips to the feet. Also a good area of space to the green top.
Workshop report – We have lightly cleaned the desk, the green Rexine grained top is in good shape with one small nibble to the left corner – but not a drama. The drawer’s runners have been waxed and are running fine. There is no key for the drawer. Worth noting that this one does not come apart.
A great looking British oak engineers desk ready for its next “life”.
