A Good British 1930s Vintage Swivel Desk Office Chair
Great looking and probably made by Simpoles of Manchester, we sold a very similar one earlier this year...
Simpoles of Manchester was a specialist office furniture manufacturer and was established in the late 19th Century. They made useful pieces of antique furniture from desks to filing cupboards and were one of the leading office furniture manufacturers in the Art Deco period of the 1930s.
It cuts a dash with its good looking base, curved arms and decent sized upholstered back. It’s a swivel version with a fixed height which sits well for most people. The chair sits on 4 castors which are spinning fine as is the swivel action on the chair. The tan coloured rexine style covering is in fine order with just two very small holes – not an eye sore or effecting its use. The frame is firm with no movement in the arms or back.
A good looking swivel office desk chair British C1930.
