Handsome 1930s Deco Era Desk Armchair in Oak
This incredibly handsome English oak chair survives from the 1930s and is ample in proportions making it perfect for a period desk or maybe a hallway or living room. We have reupholstered the seat in an aged green English leather hide which sets off that attractive oak frame a treat.
Those curved arms and shaped back do it for us, as does the quality.
Workshop report - As mentioned earlier the seat has been treated to new leather which will age up nicely, looks splendid and smells great. The golden coloured oak frame shows age related marks but nothing ugly and we have bee-waxed it to enhance the grain. A fine looking chair which is a proper desk chair rather than a carver from a dining set...
