Charming 1920s Oak Reclining Armchair
What a cracking looking armchair, surviving in wonderful original condition and one of the best we have found for a while.
It looks fab from most angles – the little iron castors give it the lift to show off that well-formed oak frame. The front arms finish with a carved crest to the front and extend to the front in a reed fashion and how about those eye catching lattice panels to the sides. We also love the little wavy pattern to the front. In all a super well sized chair which reclines into 3 different angles.
Workshop report –The chair survives from the early part of the 20th Century in great order. The oak frame is lightly age marked but nothing you would not expect. It sits firm with no wobbles, sways or repairs. The little iron castors are in place and running well. The green patterned boucle cushions are sprung so comfortable and show age wear but nothing else. We would say carefully cherished by its previous one owner.
A cracking looking British oak armchair with bags of appeal…
