Victorian Aesthetic Movement Parlour Drawing Room Chair
Looking particularly striking in crimson cotton velvet which works well against the ebonised frame. This one survives from around 1880 with gentle hints of the Aesthetic Movement in its form – the two reeded columns and stepped back is rather attractive.
Workshop report - The chair sits firm with no wobbles or sways. The crimson velvet upholstery would have been professionally done, has no marks, rips or stains (has probably not been used after it was completed) with the seat firm and tight. The frame does have age marks as do the legs. The four black pot castors are in situ and the chair smells fine.
An attractive fine looking Victorian chair ready to place.
