Victorian Farmhouse Kitchen Armchair C1880
From a Derbyshire farmhouse and surviving in great original condition with wonderful patina and wear in the right places. Nice to see one that’s not been painted or stripped of its past.
The whole chair glows with its history. The legs are just stunning with bags of wear as does the elm seat and back. A lovely colour – almost black in places with lighter shades of wear.
Workshop report - We have lightly dusted and gently cleaned the chair, just enough. The frame is firm with no wobbles or sways and it survives in fine original condition – just 140 years of wear! The seat is of a good height with no chopping down of the bottom of the legs like some. Smells fine.
A lovely example of 19th century farmhouse furniture.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 112cm x Width 64cm x Depth 67.5cm
Dimensions - Specifically the Seat: Height 46cm x Width 39-35cm (Front-Rear) x Depth 47.5cm
