Delightfully Aged 1930s Concrete and Wood Bench Table
Found sitting in the garden of a canalside home in the Black Country, this 1930s Art Deco inspired concrete and wooden bench/table survives in great condition with paint loss to the white covering and black painted feet with the raw concrete finish now taking over. The two concrete ends are classic 1930-40s in form and have a commercial feel to them.
A good height to plunk lots of pots, plants on or easy to sit on and chill with a cup of tea.
Workshop report – The bench survives in good order with the original paint clinging on. We have brushed down the concrete legs and they are firm. The wooden slats are an aged silver tint and are strong with lots of wear. The bench does sway a tad however it’s safe and is not going anywhere – Wayne has sat on it and it's fine! Worth remembering this is quite heavy for its size...
A delightful piece of early 20th Century English garden furniture.
