Decorative Pair of Victorian Ebonised Salon Chairs C1870
A fine-looking pair of Victorian salon chairs surviving in a rather splendid condition. This petite pair would have sat in the parlour or drawing room of the house and used by the ladies of the house.
They are of good quality, the ebonised frames are adorned with historically faded gilding. The faded apple green short cut velvet seats sit on short legs which in turn are finished with tarnished brass and cream pot castors – again all original. Petite with a very pleasing look.
Workshop report – Both chairs are sitting firm with no wobbles or sways. The frames are lightly worn in places from day to day wear with the gilding nicely faded. The original castors are in situ. The green short cut velvet is clean, rip free and lightly age faded but fits in well with the frames. The seat is firm with good springs. They smell fine.
A smashing pair of Victorian Chairs C1870
