Fab Mid Century Pieff Eleganza Swivel Desk Office Chair
Not something you see every day...
We have another of these seldom seen Pieff Eleganza swivel desk chairs. Pieff manufactured the Eleganza in a small number of designs - low back, high back etc and manufactured a limited number in the guise of executive swivel desk chairs. We have to say, it looks just gorgeous.
This one is a single owner chair originally purchased from Harrods. This classic looking Eleganza chair designed by Tim Bates and made in Worcester is sitting on it’s stylish swivel base and is very original and relatively lightly used. The seat height adjusts as does the tension of the seat.
Workshop report - We like this chair, it’s in a very good original condition including the rare deep navy blue Borg fabric adorning the seat, arms and back and is in very good order with no rips, tears or breaks, just a very little fading to the top of the seat back at the rear but not a big concern. Borg fabric is a synthetic plush pile, often a blend of synthetics and wool that imitates sheared fur, it’s wonderfully soft, very robust and was created in the early 1970s. The chrome frame is lightly marked, no dents and cracks and the original 5 star alloy base is fine with no cracks, kinks or repairs. The original period castors are also running fine with no breaks. Expect gentle and sensible day to day wear. No smells.
