Charming 1930s Art Deco Armchair New Upholstery
A real delight to the eye and utterly charming, this armchair survives from the 1930s and is blessed with a subtle Art Deco form.
First and foremost it’s comfortable – the seat is upholstered in a new striped cut velvet in bronze and navy and we have retained its original leather upholstery trim. The proportions mean the choices are endless on where you could pop this little charming armchair. Have not seen this design and shape before...
Workshop report - the chair sits firm with no wobbles or shakes. We have lightly waxed the frame and as mentioned the seat upholstery is brand new. The chocolate coloured original Rexine back has its studs in place with a couple of little splits on the lower half - not ugly or a real cause for concern. It smells fine.
A splendid English armchair c.1930s.
