Charming Victorian Oak Throne Armchair
Quite delightful and so appealing, this Victorian oak chair was found in a Lancashire farmhouse.
Doubtless country made and a one off, it would make a wonderful addition to a period hallway or living room and could even work as a desk chair. We particularly like the slightly battered leather on the arms, the bulbous ends to the arms and the pretty galleried back rail.
Workshop report – the colour of the oak is deep. The seat is aged but perfectly usable with the arms having age wear and the odd hole. The chair sits at a slight tilt to one side but is fine and we feel adds to the charm. We have a historic repair to the back of the arm but that’s holding up fine. Otherwise expect historic aging. Smells fine with the seat firm.
