Attractive Victorian Sofa Walnut Legs C.1900 160cm Long
A handsome looking little sofa settee surviving from around 1900, sitting on rather good looking walnut legs.
This one would not only look great in a living room but due to its smaller size would look perfectly good in a hallway or bedroom – handy for putting the shoes on. It possesses an attractive form with modest lines and an unfussy look. The decorative legs add a dash of panache...
Workshop report - The frame is firm so good for a reupholster. The arms are steady with no movement and the seat is firm enough – your bum does not sink to the floor. The rust velvet fabric does have a small repaired hole in the seat about 1cm diameter and a few marks which are visible but not eyesores. The legs are strong with no movement and overall it also smells fine. Not a damp barn find. You could use as is or consider a reupholster in a fabric of your choice. Our partner in crime Mark the upholsterer would be able to quote and advice if that’s the way you wish to go.
A handsome English Sofa C1900.
