Always a good find – a set of 12 matching dining chairs with a strong Arts & Crafts influence with the inclusion of 2 carvers making it a great set.
As to be expected the design is unfussy with subtle features such as the slight curves to the front and sides of the apron, simple fiddle backs and gently tapered legs. Nice to find them in oak.
Workshop report - Right let’s try and do our best with these condition wise. Firstly the mustard fabric is rip free and clean with some being of a slightly different shade, the studs are tarnished and seats are firm and all good. 3 of the chairs have been repaired with some skills to the underneath of the seats – something you do not see unless you tip them over and again good. The chairs have some marks, bumps, soft splits to some of the frames and a few have sensible repairs but not eye-sores. The oak is of a good tone, these are not perfect by any means. You could use them as is or consider reupholstery and refurbishment.
