Good Vintage British 1930s Two Drawer Oak Desk
A good looking British oak desk often referred to as a “Teacher's Desk”, this would have started life in an office rather than a home. We always keep our eyes open for this type of desk. This one’s in great historical order with uncomplicated lines. The two drawers with the original oak handles sit under a decent sized oak top with four thick legs finishing off the very British look!
Workshop report - Condition wise it’s got a few small ink stains inside the drawers not noticeable when closed, the top is historically marked but not abused with no deep scratches just a small nick to one of the rear corners, the usual knocks and bumps from day to day use but otherwise it’s pretty good and aging well. The lock to one of the drawers has been removed. We have waxed the drawer runners and given the frame the once over with a little beeswax to enhance its history. Smells fine and sits firm with no wobbles. Heavy for its size too.
A good vintage British desk of smaller proportions than some.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 76.5cm x Width 122cm x Depth 68cm
Dimensions - Specifically the Kneehole: Height 60cm x Width 105.5cm
