Vintage Air Ministry Chest of Drawers
A good 5 drawer Air Ministry chest of drawers probably by maker’s Gimson and Slater. This is one of three similar chests we had in stock.
The chest enjoys a useful set up of two top drawers with a flight of 3 others sitting underneath. The design of this version of chest did not change for a number of years and this one, C1950 echoes its early counterparts well with a deco feel to the handles and overall form.
As you would expect it’s well-made, solid and survives in good vintage order with no major faults just day to day marks and knocks. The chest has been checked over in the workshop so – runners are waxed, drawers vacuumed and cleaned and given the once over are order of the day at Billy Hunt. We would assume the top has been historically refinished but looks fine.
A handsome looking chest ready to place.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 84cm x Width 107cm x Depth 54cm including Handles
