Victorian Sofa Bench from a Country House Snooker Room
Surviving from the late 19th Century and a recent find from a large Lancashire country house, this once sat in the snooker room whilst the chaps potted a few balls and quaffed brandy!
It’s got a great stance with its three thick round oak legs to the front and the curved arms and wings making it a very good looking piece.
Condition wise it’s a true country house find, so yes, you could use it straight away- the heavy frame is firm with no wobbles and the seat is firm enough, a little lumpy with the mushroom brown fabric in situ. It also smells fine. You could however consider a refurb with new upholstery. Would work well in both a home and commercial setting.
A very good looking English piece of country house furniture C1900.
Dimensions - Overall: Height 95cm x Width 183cm x Depth 70cm
Dimensions - Specifically the Seat: Height 40cm x Width 165cm x Depth 50cm
