We chose this wingback armchair because of its shape and stance, it’s got something a little different from the normal wingback chair and that deep fringe is to die for. Even in our unit it peeps over the tops of most other chairs.
The shape is very fetching – it’s a little narrow, slightly taller and the wings are a little plumper than normal – maybe it once sat in a hallway or we would like to believe it was one of many sitting in an old club or a porters chair sitting in a hotel lobby.
We are lead to believe that the salmon pink fabric is original and its certainly in useable condition with no rips or tears obviously the velvet is marked in places and the arm ends are smudged. You could recover however we like the colour and condition it came in but it’s your choice. If you’d like to recover, Martina would be happy to advise and we could take care of re-upholstery if you wish. It’s very comfortable and very easy to have a nap in!
The frame is firm, no wobbles, heavy and the four legs hiding under the fringe are fine with no repairs and with brass castors attached to the front two legs.
A wonderfully different chair which is crying out for a corner, hallway or large window.
