Early Vintage Ercol Chair Model No 442 With Matching Footstool
A scarcely seen model 442 armchair designed by Lucian Ercolani in the 1960s and manufactured by Ercol, High Wycombe alongside its matching footstool. Both the chair and footstool benefit from having new webbing and new upholstery in a slate grey woven fabric and are fully compliant with current fire regs. Constructed from solid English beech with polished elm armrests.
As mentioned the upholstery, foam to the cushions and webbing are new and the frames are firm with day to day knocks but nothing ugly or off putting. A particularly nice grain to the elm arms.
Without doubt a great looking, comfortable and well-designed pair from a quality maker.
