Good Original Mid-19th Century Victorian 3 Seat Sofa
This one possess a great stance and rake. Sitting in super original condition its good enough to use as is or would make a perfect reupholstery project.
Surviving from the mid-19th century it’s a good looking chap with that mellow scroll to its high back and slender arms again gently rolled. It sits with good proportions with the original woven acanthus patterned fabric, very William Morris, delightfully worn to all areas. It’s on 4 firm legs with the front two turned. The frame is firm, arms steady and the seat is again firmish (not a bum to the floor job). The piece is dry, smells fine and is reassuringly weighty.
A fine English mid-19th century sofa with a whiff of country house about it...
