A Good 1930s Oak Tallboy with Art Deco Influences
A pretty and sensible sized oak 1930s tallboy with a hint of Art Deco.
Of a versatile height with a double handled cupboard and two useful lower drawers. This tallboy or dwarf wardrobe, which ever takes your fancy, is glowing well having enjoyed careful day to day use rather than been banished to a shed or outhouse.
It’s an attractive piece of furniture with its curved base and panelled sides. Well-proportioned and weighty for its size. The age tarnished handles and little Bakelite crested rose plaques are a nice-looking feature to the cupboard doors and drawers.
Workshop report – The interior has been vacuumed and is very clean with very few marks. The frame is firm with no wobbles or sways. There is a small sliver of oak missing to the front lower right but not a deal beaker and historic. The original handles are in situ with one having a nibble out of it, but again historic and not an eyesore. The drawers and cupboard are closing as they should.
A good looking 1930s Deco tallboy.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 125cm with Top 122.5cm x Width 88cm x Depth 44.5cm
