Good English Edwardian Bergere Two Seater Sofa
Surviving from the early part of the 20th century, this sofa is in good historic order and possess an attractive stance. The long slender rounded arms finished with a little floral roundels to the fronts are matched well to the shapely fine arched backs. The frame is sitting firm on front ball and claw feet.
Workshop report – The frame is firm, no wobbles or repairs. The cane work is in fine order with one small hole on the left hand side arm but not causing any great concern. The fringed seat covering, in a light sage green velvet is clean and neat. The spring bases are good and we have added new hessian to the bottom for peace of mind and neatness. No bad odours. A comfortable and smart sofa. Expect light day to day marks to the frames but nothing unattractive.
A good looking sofa in that smaller size, always useful.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 84cm x Width 122cm x Depth 72cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Seat: Height 39cm x Width 113cm x Depth 59cm
