Good Late Victorian Industrial 5 Drawer Workshop Chest
A smashing workshop chest salvaged from Albion St Works, a Grade 2 listed factory in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham. This one sat in the same position since being placed in the factory and was one of the last pieces we salvaged after which the property closed. We have to say it’s got that look - plenty of wear marks, original tarnished handles to the five drawers, panelled sides, differing tones to the pine frame and a historically worn counter top.
It sits in good historic order - expect plenty of wear marks, the drawers slide in and out fine, the inners are clean and its heavy, so it sits firm. The counter top is also worn as it should be.
A rather striking looking beast with provenance to boot!
