A Pair of Stylish 1960s Black English Stonehill Club / Armchairs
Not seen many with this look – very classy, the right colour and maybe from a commercial background rather than the home. Sitting on old gold coloured atomic legs, these black armchairs are spot on for the era. The pair sit a little lower than some, the arms are long and possess a wonderful curve from back to front.
Workshop report - The condition is good, the frame firm, legs nicely dull aged. All cushion buttons are in place. The base is strong and we have lined the bases to keep them smart. One or two nibbles on the edges, a small mark to the back of one and a small split in one of the arms, not a big deal to be honest. They smell fine and are clean with sensible wear rather than misuse.
Made by British, Stonehill Furniture in 1960. This smashing pair are something a little scarcer than most and would not look out of place in a contemporary home, shop or office space.
A fab looking British pair!
