Vintage Workshop Art Metal London Single Pedestal Desk
The people at Art Metal knew how to build stuff to last and this single pedestal desk survives in fantastic unspoilt condition having avoided the dreaded strip and polish session. Found in a Yorkshire workshop.
It’s of a sensible size – some can be a little on the large side! It’s the condition that’s great on this, lots of genuine wear to the top, drawers and hardly noticeable, unless you get on your hands and knees, is a small mass of kick wear underneath the leg space.
Workshop report- The desk has been cleaned and lightly waxed. The drawers are running well and the file slide is still in place on the larger drawer. The Art Metal London badging remains in place by way of teeny rivets. The original black top is clean and genuinely marked and scarred. The drawers have the original deco era handles in situ and the black stubby feet are also in place. Wear to the grey paint is historic with nothing new or out of place. A weighty little beast indeed.
