Vintage British 1930/40s 2 Drawer Oak Desk
A well sized British oak desk presented in great vintage order benefiting from two slim drawers slipped under its top.
Sometimes called a “Teachers Desk”, this one was found in a Yorkshire office and as mentioned is in good vintage order with sensible day to day use. We rather like the practical profile, the light curve to the edges of the legs and the slim drawers.
Workshop report - We have cleaned the drawers which are ink free and clean. The runners have been waxed and are running smoothly. We also waxed the legs and top. The desk is showing day to day marks to its top with no deep gauges. The original handles are in situ and it smells fine. The legs do not screw off but the weight and shape is manageable for placing.
A British late 30s early 40s desk of sensible proportions.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 76cm x Width 138cm x Depth 77.5cm
Dimensions – Specifically the Kneehole: Height 61cm
