Fabulous Late Victorian Painted Pine Coffin Carrier Bier
Tremendous looking coffin carrier surviving in original condition from around the turn of the century. Pretty cool looking for a coffin carrier - some can be a little twee or on the low side, this one in its original black paint pushes our buttons.
Maybe not everyone’s cuppa tea – this one sits on a set of great looking cast wheels and the top turns around – see images. We love the originality of this rare piece – the thick dense black painted frames, the thick worn top and the fact that it’s relatively practical.
Condition wise – it’s all there with the right amount of wear in the right places. As mentioned the top does spin around. The large wheels are crack free - one drags a bit but is getting better with use and the overall condition is original without having been messed with in any way.
Great home, think kitchen island and commercial uses – to die for!
