1940's Vintage British Oak Unix Sectional Glazed Bookcase
Great little pieces of British furniture and such a neat size. We have a 4 section high version by Unix, all bearing the little riveted UNIX logo to each piece. Unix bookcases were chosen for The Festival of Britain South Bank Exhibition and were usually sold by The Phoenix Gallery, London WC2.
You can make these up as you choose – we have configured as per images but it’s really up to you. Each section makes up a layer and we have a 4 glazed, three compartment bookcase, the lower section being deeper than the other upper 3. The glass comes out fairly easily if you wished to have a few open shelves in the combo.
These are in good vintage condition - no cracks to the sliding glass and only day to day wear on the cases, no repairs or breaks to the oak. We just love the circular ground in finger pulls. The sections simply sit on top of each other, starting with a separate base. Great for display...
A great looking piece of classic British furniture with a compact in size.
Dimensions – Overall: Height 127cm x Width 81.5cm x Depth Top Sections 20cm & Lower Section 27cm
