A wonderful small rural factory clearance gathered us a small handful of lamps and this Mek Elek vintage industrial adjustable machinists light is one of a matching pair which we are selling. This one was originally purchased when the factory was built around 1948 so it’s a “one owner model”.
We are very much of the opinion that we prefer to tidy up the lamps leaving as much of the history as possible rather than stripping them back, that’s not really our style. We will always gently clean the workings, get rid of factory filth, lightly polish and pass them on to our wonderful friend Harry who then dos a full rewire, plugs them up and gives them a PAT test to ensure they are ready and safe to go.
We have secured both Mek Elek Lamps to a heavy circular steel base so you are able to use them as table lamps or place them on a floor. However the base will unscrew if you wish to attach to a wall.
Overall the condition is used which we just love – yes the enamel shade possess the odd chip and shard of enamel missing, the stems are wear marked with usage, nevertheless they are in full working order and would look great as a pair - both having similar usage and coming from the same factory, having sat about 10 feet away from each other.
These Mek Elek’s are good looking lamps with a big chunk of industrial character.
